Hello, My book Readers and Movie Watchers
Happy July. So, what are you reading today? Sycamore Row by John Grisham is so good. It's about a wealthy businessman named Seth who leaves the bulk of his estate, 22 million dollars, to his housekeeper, Lettie. Some of it he leaves to his brother and the church. Seth is dying and takes his own life, but before then, he leaves an extensive will with instructions. He wants Jack the lawyer in this small town to execute it. Seth doesn't leave a dime to his daughter or son, and they will fight to the end to get their hands on his money. In the book, you find out the problems Seth's daughter and his son are going through. Also, the story takes place in 1989 in a small town in Mississippi, where race relations have not improved much.
This is a story of a lawyer who had to peel back the layers of a will with people fighting trying to get a piece of the money pie. You are also dealing with the lawyers, Jack's personal issues. Which makes a good story. The ending is the reason why Seth left most of his money to Lettie will make you feel that there are people in this world who try to right the wrongs. That has been done in this world. It's a good story of mystery, justice, suspense, and greed. I love a Good Grisham book, don't you? The characters in this book are well thought out, as well as the twists and turns of the story. If you need something long and good to read, this is the book for you.
Happy Reading
