Dissapointed

Happy Halloween. So what are you reading today? Here are some of my disappointments.(These are my opinions only) First lets start with the movie MA with Octavia Spencer who plays  Sue Ann a middle aged women who has been wronged in high school. So she gets back at the children of her former high school classmates. She invites some teenager over to  to her house to drink and party. She participates right along with them trying to live her high school years again. Until the crazy starts to happen on Sue Ann's part.  Behind this story you see a disturbed women  who had been embarrassed in high school and it damaged her has an adult.  This movie had some cringe worth scenes  in it. One is where Sue Ann kisses a teenager she had a crush on.  I would give this movie 5 out of 10. Watch it you might enjoy it. I did love Sue Ann's hair style in the movie.

The book Luxury Tax by T Styles this is about a stick up man named Garrod and his neighbor Ginger who has lost her memory. Ginger is  like a hood rat fighting and protecting her drug dealing boyfriend  Milli at any cost. But  Milli has so much stuff with him it's not funny. Garrod and Ginger are attracted to each other and because Ginger has no memory of what happen in her life at a certain time. The story gets crazy.  The story was ok and crazy. I have read much better from this author. The thing I didn't like was in the end there were to many unanswered questions. The things that happen to Garrod's mother and Ginger's daughter by the hands of Milli which that was his daughter also was crazy to. This whole story was a disappointing to read.  I give it 4 out of 10 in rating

2nd Time No Luck

I don't care what they say sometimes the second time is not the charm. I have picked up Sparring Partners the book by  John Grishman twice from the library and still can't get past the first story. This book has 3 not so short stories in it. But I can't get past the first one. I like Grisham's book but this one is not holding my interest. Even though he got great reviews about the book. Maybe it's just me. Some books are not for every reader. 

Just seen the movie Dungeons and Dragons with Chris Pine it was good but 2 hours long. I guess it's bases off the game, I think. The story was good but at times it was hard to understand what they were saying. The monsters and wizards and various creatures were interesting with a lot of action.. It's a good family movie if you have the time. It's about a man who... Oh, heck just watch the movie it's hard to explain this one to you. So, what have you read or watched lately?

I Can & Can't

So, what are you reading today? First, I can and can't for me. We will start with I can which is the movie The Next Three Days on Tubitv is good movie. With Russel Crowe in it. It's about a man whose wife has been accused of murdering her boss. The wife went to jail and the story is based on how the husband Russel Crowe goes to great lengths to get her out. It's suspenseful, entertaining and did I mention it was free best part about watching movies.

I can't is the book Pimp by IceBerg Slim the book is based on a boy that becames a pimp. It's about his life on the south side of Chicago in the 1930's and the reason why he became a pimp. He did some pretty crazy stuff back then and he saw some crazy stuff to. The book started off good, but the writing personally I couldn't understand it. Maybe it was the way they talked back then. It was almost like a foreign langue to me. If the book was written a different way, I would have enjoyed it. Because from what I did read it was pretty good. If you have read the book let me know what your thoughts are on it. I would really like to know maybe you can understand what's he saying better the I could.

So what are you reading today? I have so much to share with you that's why I'm happy. Well, the main reason is that libraries make me excite. It's like a kid in a candy store where everything is free. Anyway, I got a chance to go to my Main library where they have everything. I loved it. I got so many books to read and movies to review. They even had their own movie theater section where they offered the lates in videos and music. I really wanted to spend the night there.

I get excited because I have so much to review book and movies wize  for you. I hope that you have a book or movie that you would like to share if not that's ok. I have enough for the both of us. Stay tuned for my movie & book reviews

New Movie & Book

                                                                      Hello My Readers

So what are you reading this week? have some good ones for you today. First let's start with the Movie Devils Knot free on Tubitv. This is based on a true story it's about 3 kids that go missing in a small southern town. The town looks for them and they find them in a place they call Devils knot which is a forest like. After they find the kids dead in a small river. They pin the murders on these teenagers that the town didn't like anyway. It was a sad story of how kids got caught up in adult situations and the adults that were just as wrong as the kids. I did not expect it to be good. 8 out of 10 for me. Don't sleep on movies that might have been shown in the movies some of these movies you never heard of before are pretty good.

Now on to the It Starts With Us by Collen Hoover. She is a good writer I will give you that. This book is part 2 of It Ends with Us. Which I didn't read. But to read the book I am talking about you don't really need to read the first book in my opinion. This book gives you the basic story of the first book and then you can put two and two together to get the idea of what the first book was about. This book is basically about an abused women named Lilly who has the strength to leave her husband and have a life of her own. She runs into her  first love ( Atlas)and they rekindle what they lost has teenagers. I like the way the author tells the story through the letters that they write to each other and through Lilly's diary. This is a heart warming tale of lost love strength , courage and the after effects of being in an abusive relationship. It's a fast read and a good one.

Good Movie & Book

Happy Friday. What are you reading or watching today? How about the movie Widows had a good cast in it Viola Davis was very good she was the leader of the group. It's about these women whose husbands are robbers, and they end up doing a job that kills them.  The widows now owe money back to the person that their husbands stole it from. It was a good movie. The beginning was kind of slow but stick with it there are some good plot twists to it. Tubitv see it free.

The book The Quickie by James Patterson It was interesting It was also kind of stupid if you ask me. It's about this woman who has a quick affair with a co - worker because she wants to get back at her husband who she thinks is cheating on her. Then that's where the plots and twist come in . With her trying to protect her husband from a situation she saw him do. It's a crazy story but stick with it because in the ends you will be shocked at some of the things that go on in the book. The women I think is silly but that's just me.

Movies & Books

Happy Sunday I am not sure if I talked about these to you so if I have, I am sorry but let's get to the movies first Takers has a good cast in it. It's about these guys who try and rob I think it's a money truck or bank not sure. But it's a good story. I happen to like bank robber stories. Don't know why. This movie Takers has it's up and downs, but you will not be disappointed. Good Saturday night Movie.

The book Boys From Biloxi by John Grisham I love his books this one not so much. It was to drawn out. Like he was looking for words to fill this book up with. It's about 2 friends who when they get older go their separate ways ones gets into the criminal world and the other into law. These guys come from a small seashore town that's it's represented by working class polish families. The 2 boys being one of them. I had to put this book down it was too long winded for me. But if you have read it maybe it's me. might be missing something. Let me know your thoughts on this book if you have read it Thanks.
